Mobile Learning Center

The Zimmer Mobile Learning Center is an 18-wheel expandable semi that takes a specific route through the contiguous United States each year. It had its beginnings as a product/instrument-carrying semi in 1990, and in 1996 was transformed into its present, self-contained configuration. The pre-assigned route takes the unit into each distributor's area. The expandable Mobile Learning Center houses a complete self-supporting training/educational facility that can be used to promote new products, conduct hands-on training, and educational programs for nurses, physician attendants, and technicians in addition to community seminars on arthritis. Opened, the Mobile Learning Center offers a room approximately 15 feet by 28 feet, complete with audio/visual equipment, seating for 50, four pull-down workstations, backlit display frames, and a full complement of display products and workshop equipment. There is also a smaller room that can be closed off from the main area and used for private conferences.
