Kathleen never envisioned herself slowing down as she got older.  A yoga instructor and massage therapist, she also did aerobics, ran, biked, and rode horses.  Then she started noticing pain deep in her groin.  Told she had severe arthritis in her left hip and needed a hip replacement, Kathleen put it off.

“I didn’t want a major operation with a big cut,” said Kathleen, 50, who divides her time between California and Indiana.  “But the pain affected my back, then my knees started hurting, and I’d lost three-quarters of an inch of height.”

Kathleen read about the Zimmer MIS 2-Incision hip replacement surgery and liked that the procedure involved two small incisions and the separation rather than cutting of hip muscles and tendons.

“It was a gift to get out of the hospital so quickly,” she said.   “And I can hardly see the scars anymore.”

Now pain-free, Kathleen is back to teaching yoga, performing massage therapy, and biking. “Every surgery in the world should be rethought this way” she said.
